I agree. Its the thrill of the hunt and that you are actually getting as close as you will ever get to paying the true value of plastic! ( A good garage sale aside.... Now those are the ultimate finds. )

Anybody wondering the Wetaskiwin, AB had TONS of marked down lego last night. I'm hoping to go back tonight...already completed the 3 sets I purchased (Elves Skyra's mysterious sky Castle, Jurassic World T-Rex tracker, and Minecraft Desert Fortress..I think thats what it's called). There were a lot of star wars sets, a few city sets left including a rocket ship). All 50 dollars or less.

Went to a few Walmarts in Brampton, Ontario. Found a few sets on sale but the pricing was all over the place. The Lego City Spaceport was $120. Also found the Darkseid Invasion for $75. Could not find the Kylo Ren Command Shuttle on clearance. Just regular price. Anyone else have any luck in the GTA?

My Wal-Mart clearance aisle has a few Lego sets. Of interest to me, though: the Star Wars sets are only $5 off for now. Waiting for better discounts.

(Also, seeing half of the next wave of 2016 Star Wars sets on shelves. No idea if we can buy for now. Scanned one this afternoon and the screen said to ask an employee for assistance.)

Walked into a WalMart yesterday shortly after lunch and found 12ft of LEGO in the Electronics section...went closer and they were 70-75% off!

Great deals. However I went back 4-5hrs later to collect stuff for a friend and was advised by the sales associate that they were cancelling the clearance as "they were selling too quickly"...1/3 of what I saw was already gone, esp. Star Wars and Friends. As I left the detector went off and security said it was OK as "they've had tons of people set them off in the last couple hours, including a guy with a shopping cart full!".

Here's what I walked away with thanks to winbrant letting me know about it shortly after he initially saw it. As I was filling up my cart the customer service manager told me that they would be cancelling the clearance once I was done.

And here's my son climbing all over them. He's still at the age where Lego is better to play with when it's still inside the box.

My haul came from the Westbrook Mall location in Calgary. I checked two other locations today when I happened to be going by them, and they only had very limited numbers of "clearance" items, and what they had was only 20 or 25 percent off, so it varies a lot from store to store.

I'm not sure if the Westbrook Mall location does something differently with how they handle inventory (do they get the leftovers from other stores?), or if they are just worse at figuring out how much to order. A couple of years ago I got Scott's top soil at $1.00 a bag (which would normally be $6 or $7 a bag). I bought most of a pallet of it because I happened to be building new raised beds at the time. Unfortunately it isn't my usual store so I have to get really lucky (or get a tip from someone else) to get the deals.

I don't believe Walmart re-distributes stock nor is the Wal*Mart location used as a "clearance site." That being said I have found that this location (Westbrook Mall) does have stock that moves relatively slower than most though they seem to order on par with other stores. And on occasion I have found stuff here that have sold out at other locations. Might have something to do with the demographics of the area...

Apologies for not mentioning the location but they had "cancelled" the clearance as I already stated.

Ive noticed over the last few years some walmarts in Vancouver area regularly have way better clearance deals than others. It does have to do with the demographics, inventory and managers discretion. Guildford mall in Surrey has a Lego Store in the same mall as the walmart.. so I think that also plays a role in them always having great clearances.

Walmart in Corner Brook Newfoundland has marked down about 15 sets by 50% or more. I picked up two lego City Shuttle sets for $60 each, T.rex Tracker for $45, Darkseid Invasion for $37.50, Jokerland for $75, Friends Grand Hotel for $65, Imperial Shuttle Tydirium for $60 and Star Wars Assault Carrier for $75. Lots left as of 1pm Newfoundland time.

I've been searching for the Jokerland forever at a discount.. none to be found... my local walmarts suck. $5 off $149 is NOT a clearance!

There were about 10 Jokerland sets discounted by 50% at my local walmart. Something I do is talk with the toy department employees and ask when they plan on discounting the lego. Its worked a few times and I've saved a ton of money.
