I had found one at TRU last year with a torn box, but was only discounted 30%.
Was still a good deal, and regret not picking it up.
I have inoperable cancer and am unable to work. Any gifts would be appreciated. Thank you!

Over the weekend I went to a yard sale and got this set for $5! 3425, US National Team Cup Edition Set
which retailed for $90 in 2002. http://www.brickset.com/detail/?set=3425-1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The stadium is almost complete, it is missing a bunch of the stands the players go on and the contraption in the goals (but I mickey moused it). It only had 1/2 the figures (11 out of 22). The box was beat up and it also had some SW parts in it (with a Darth Vader MF without helmet). I cleaned it up and it is in great shape.

It's kind of like foosball, my daughter loves it. :D

Wow, nice! I can figure out 2 GE, 2 FB and 2 PS for $600 shipped (plus tax), but not the diagon Alley.

TRU B1G1 50% + $25 off for Mastercard = 2 of each of the formers for $200 ($600 total).

I got them online through a private seller not sure how they got them so cheap maybe they work for lego and get a discount or something. Not that I mind i'm just excited to actually be able to afford them for once!

This was about a month age but It was such a great deal....

I was in a Lego store talking to one of the sales clerks and happened to ask her if they had anything in back like a returned set that they would sell at a discount. She told me that they had received from the main Lego shipping wherehouse a Green Grocer in a dammaged box.

I have wanted one of these sets for some time now and told her to Please Bring It Out. Low and Behold, she had in her hands, not one but two. Price - 50% off original retail - $75.00 each!! Two Green Grocer's for just $150.00!

This is by far the best deal i have ever had and I doubt I will ever top that it. I am going to build one and eventually sell the other on BrickLink.

Wow you got it only a month ago? Great find! I'll have to ask what they might have in the back that has been discontinued. Although I've seen damaged sets on the floor (current stock) and it usually is only 10% off.

I nabbed 2 old trains from '91 and '94...
4558 - Metroliner (100% complete with box)
4564 Freight Rail Runner (100% complete with box)
no power Accessories with them, for $180. Not too shabby I thought.

Also nabbed 6543 Sail N' Fly Marina (100% complete with box) for $50 yesterday =)

I don't know if I'm more addicted to the Lego's or finding Lego's for awesome prices.
I have mixed feelings about new releases: I can't wait to see and get the new sets... but I can't figure out where I'm gonna put them or store them.

Hey Barrett!

Ended up finding one of those sets as well, and nabbed it for $100 =) I'm tempted to mix them up and have 2 sets of Vikings Vs Knights =)

That was a nice find on the two train sets Luciant! Maybe I can give you my want list and a budget and you can shop around for me like on the TV show American Pickers! ;)

LOL I've honestly and truly considered offering this service as I think I do get just as big of a thrill finding as I do playing =)

I got my original Viking one for $80, so basically same price. Eh, after shipping it seems I paid basically what I would have paid on Bricklink. Maybe not as good of a deal as I thought, but still pretty cool sets to have.

Got a Police Minifigure Collection (7279) for $.79 at Fred Meyer by recycling 200 aluminum cans which I grabbed out of the recycling bin at my work. Wasn't a set I would have bought full price (as I don't collect city legos), but for $.79, the German Shepherd fits great in my Medieval Market Village/Mill Village raid. Plus the crooks will come in handy for Super Heroes next year.

For once I'm glad my state has a bottle deposit!

I visit the thrift stores at lunch sometimes. Found #345 for $2.99. Box and instructions are in good shape considering how old it is. Only missing 2 red curved pieces for the fence end caps. Lego has come a long way.

I have some questions about this old set so I'll post those in the General Discussions thread. I'd appreciate any Lego historians input on this.

My 3 yard sale finds in 3 years of yardsaling. I've probably gone to about 100 sales but sometimes you find some gems.

The first was two years ago when I found a kid selling his original Clone Turbo Tank in box for $15 and a Tie Defender for $5. I offered $17 and he took it. The Tank had most of the figures missing as well as the speeder bike, so I ended up selling it on Amazon for a nice profit.

The second one was 40 pounds of Lego for $50. The family had a bunch of toys out so I asked if they had any Lego. One of the boys said he had some at his house. I was surprised when he came back with 5 bins full of Lego and only wanted $50 for it all. After sorting through it, I found the original Hagrid's Hut, HP Forbidden Corridor, HP Final Challenge, original Republic Attack Gunship, original Millenium Falcon, Imperial Shuttle, a bunch of the mini SW sets, five or so old Ninja sets, the old Shuttle Launch Pad, a couple of Divers sets, and a bunch of other stuff. They all have varying degrees of completeness, but I obviously couldn't complain for the price. I had to sell off the rest of what I couldn't sort (about 24 pounds) because we were having a baby and we needed the room.

The third was the original Hogwarts Castle for $5. The lady was still putting stuff out, so I asked if she had any Lego. She said she'd be right back and came back with a small box with a half built Hogwarts. I saw some of the minifigs were there and it looked mostly complete so I asked how much. When she said $5, I quickly took out my wallet gave her a five and raced out of there  It's missing the manual, but I put it together and it's about 95-97% complete :D

Thats awesome I found a hogwarts at a church sale a couple of years ago and got it for $10 but the box was taped shut so i really didnt have clue what i was getting, when I got home I cracked the scissors out and opened it, it had the complete castle, plus 3 complete soccer buses, and about a 75% complete basketball court.

Just won a auction on Ebay. Usually I wouldn't post about that, but this one I could not pass up on posting.
