TRU Canada is having a 20%-off promo on all Lego CITY sets this coming weekend.



Still thinking of getting the Passenger Train (TRU exclusive?)..
or wait for better deals such as 25%-off and BOGO 1/2 price, if that would even happen in the near future

The promo actually runs from the 19th up until the 25th of August.

I can't seem to edit the first post. Anyways, just to update everyone, the sale went live today at around 5AM Toronto time, and is 20%-off ALL Lego City sets. The sets online are rather limited so you might as well check your local TRU. Also, can anyone please check if the physical flyer says 20%-off or 15%-off? Here's the online screen cap

If next week's TRU sale turns out to be Creator, I wouldn't be surprised.

For their Creator section, the Pet Shop is out of stock; while Maersk Train, Grand Emporium, and Shuttle Adventure are all missing and not listed.

I think a Technics sale should be next. I saw several 8043 sets on the shelves at my local TRU store. :)

Here in Edmonton the flyer says it is only 15% off. I just ordered the red cargo train(3677) from the TRU website for a decent sale price... $139.97. I don't think it was in stock last week.

Does anyone think, other than me, that this C$174.99-TRU pricing for the Lego set 3677 Red Cargo Train is a price error? Because in the Canadian Lego shop website it is C$219.99 :o If not, then this together with the 20%-off sale this week is one of the best things that happened to Canada in recent times.

Because in the Canadian Lego shop website it is C$219.99 :o If not, then this together with the 20%-off sale this week is one of the best things that happened to Canada in recent times.

I noticed that several days ago but some things are better left unsaid...don't want to spread to the point that you know who fixes the problem. ;)

Right. That's why I posted only after I got the set that I wanted.

I guess this is the last day of the sale, and 3677 was never made available again online after it went oos. I also observed that the stores didn't want to sell this set this week. That I don't understand. They have stocks but they never put it on shelves. They make people feel as if buyers are taking advantage or robbing them when it is as valid and as legal to buy this set for $139.97(+taxes). TRU has some great promos but they also have some unfriendly staffs, not all eh, some.

One time I asked a store staff if they have CMF Series 5, and she told me to look at where the lego items are, and she can't leave her area where she's just arranging stuffs on table, and it was like 630PM almost no customers to attend to. Also, when I did a return, the staff on the CS area never greeted me, never even look at me when I'm telling her about or why I'm returning the item. She just proceed with processing the return and have me to sign and that's it. She looked sad, as if she never want a conversation. I wonder if they have sex life.

But on the store where I got my train, the staff that answered my phone call told me they have it but they are still on the truck. When I followed up and called again the next day it is still on the truck. The next next day I went to the store, it was still on the truck. But they are arranging the Lego items on the shelves, but I didn't see any spot for the train. Good thing the other staff filling the shelves made an extra effort to find the needle in the haystack made of needles, and got me my train set.

Some staff are really helpful but there are some that are not too enthusiastic when dealing with customers. I hope this change with TRU. Should they be happy people specially that they are dealing with kids, I mean kid's stuffs. I mean if they are not happy with returns, then they should not allow returns or make a rule that returns are not allowed. But it is part of their business. If they don't want to sell items on a reduced price then don't make any promotions. It is just a bit frustrating eh. I still paid for the item and didn't get it for free.
