The coupons still work on Toy Stroy Western Train Chase and Star Wars Geonosian Starfighter, I believe.

Re: [WORLD] BN.com 30% off USA MSRP on Non-Licensed LEGO
Just a note of precaution for any Canadian buyers from B&N.com - A little over a month ago I ordered the Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator set from B&N.com. It arrived yesterday after about five weeks. However, I was charged $10.50 Duty by Canada Post ($8.50 processing and $2.00 for GST).
In general I would not be upset about this - i.e. if this was an item I purchased over ebay as Duty is to be expected since no GST has been paid as of yet. However, B&N charged me GST as part of their shipping process during the checkout (a little over $2.00 for the item as it was with the 30% off coupon).
At this stage I am not quiet sure what to do about this (contact B&N or Canada Border Services Agency?). I am not happy that I paid tax twice on the item - clearly there must have been an error on behalf of someone.
Did anyone here ever experience something like this?

It's available now. Probably only for a couple of hours at most as it sells out quick. Go Go Go.brick76 wrote:i wonder if MF will be back for sale again... funny i'm seeing Republic Gunship and Titanium Command Rig listed but not available...
Thank me as well if you get one. ;)

And btw, the coupon still applies, so remember to use that. Also, don't post on any of the major deal sites unless you want this deal gone in 10 minutes.brickity wrote:It's available now. Damnit...I just bought the MF in Canada with a 25% off coupon (which still is expensive binging it down to American MSRP but at least a good discount) but it definitely doesn't compare to having it at 30% off B&N's price...
Can't even return the one I bought here in Canada because the return date just passed...guess I'll have to pass on this one. Good luck to those who are able to order one right now.

Dam, I missed MF again.
Sometimes, I wished that I actually live in a EST time zone. lol
I would say contact B&N first and if they can't do anything about it, contact Canada Border Services.
Thats strange. I never got charged by Canada Post before. Did BN put a custom packing slip on your package with the GST number?harry99 wrote:Just a note of precaution for any Canadian buyers from B&N.com - A little over a month ago I ordered the Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator set from B&N.com. Re: [WORLD] BN.com 30% off USA MSRP on Non-Licensed LEGO
@Harry, Did you used expedited shipping?
All my BN orders never went through the customs, thank God.
I guess since BN already collected the tax, and this is reflected on the receipt, and a lot of times there's a sticker or note or (green) declaration on the brown packaging box that tax has already been paid.
Does your box have this? If not, then it is BN fault.
Even on the receipt or order details the tax is explicitly computed.
I think BN is even paying 13% when we only pay them 5% right?
My suggestion is to contact BN first, not the customs. If they don't act on it then call the customs or visit their website where there's a form for tax refund. However, you do need to provide the customs the receipts that you paid the right tax (HST=13%), and that they have properly assessed you. Meaning the tax collected from you is based on the Canadian price of the item you are importing. That means a lot of hassle for just a few bucks provided you will get any refund.
Also, it used to be $5 processing fee. It went high now. Imagine you only need to pay 1 dollar but have to pay $9.50 just because you owe Canada 1 dollar.
Last time I have this issue was when I purchase some item from Germany and the ebay seller sent it with tracking (not the regular airmail), and he also made a mistake of not indicating how much the item was. So customs took the liberty and price it at $300.
I filled up the form from the customs website and sent it to them together with my order details. I got a cheque refund but only because they estimated the value at $300 when it is only like $50. So they still get the $5 base processing fee plus the 13% tax.

Re: [WORLD] BN.com 30% off USA MSRP on Non-Licensed LEGO
Thanks for your suggestions! I contacted B&N (their email address) and explained the situation. It was the strangest thing though - there was even the B&N GST number on the package (the shipping label sticker) so I have really no clue why the custom folks actually charged GST for it. It just doesn't make sense.
In the shipping box with the LEGO set was the receipt that showed that the HST was paid on the item (you're right - not just the GST but the entire HST). You'd think that they would actually open the box and look inside in case of doubt (but I should probably be glad that they did not as they might have damaged the box in the process).
Will wait for a reply from the B&N folks until I contact customs. It's not the end of the world for $10.50 but it's also the principle involved - why pay tax twice for an item? It's just not fair.
In case B&N doesn't do anything about it. Is there a way to contact the Custom folks online? I tried to call their number when I got home from work but it appears that they are not open past 4:30pm EST on a weekday.

Re: [WORLD] BN.com 30% off USA MSRP on Non-Licensed LEGO
Just got an email from BN.com, my MF was cancelled... "We apologize, but despite our efforts, we weren't able to fulfill some or all of the items in your order, as noted below. These items have been canceled from your order. "
meh.
meh.

Re: [WORLD] BN.com 30% off USA MSRP on Non-Licensed LEGO
MF order cancelled for the 3rd time... maybe i should order it without the 30% discount coupon next time.
Re: [WORLD] BN.com 30% off USA MSRP on Non-Licensed LEGO
Can always order it online at regular price and then bring it back to your local B&N store and do a return / repurchase using the coupon I would bet... I've never had a problem buying a Lego set in store with a printed coupon even when if they were excluded online.
I have mixed feelings about new releases: I can't wait to see and get the new sets... but I can't figure out where I'm gonna put them or store them.
