[US] Target Black Friday 2011
Target has the following sets are $64 for Black Friday:
-8098 Portal of Atlantis
-7327 Scorpion Pyramid (odd considering this was a 2011 release)
http://www.blackfriday2011.com/ads/targ ... friday-ads" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Very, very weak sales. Just like last year.

That's funny. I just came here to post this. Not thrilled at all with it.
As a first-timer is there a better place to look for BF deals?

Eh... Yawn...
I hope someplace puts out something better than this.

Re: [US] Target Black Friday
Just to be clear for everyone, those prices are 35% off regular MSRP.
I agree that this should be a better deal. I'm going to guess that the same thing will happen this year with Target as happened last year, which is that these sets won't sell out on BF and they'll be on the shelves for days/weeks afterwards - AT THE SAME PRICE. Point being, don't break your neck over this, especially on a terrible day like Black Friday.
I've had my eye on Portal of Atlantis for a while, for the parts. But I wouldn't buy it for more than half price.

Re: [US] Target Black Friday
Well last year was Troll Mountain Fortress for $64 which I thought was great. Picked up a few of them. Nothing touches a prior year with the 6211 Star Destroyer for $50. I wish I got more than 1.
But I won't be touching these. I already have the PQ sets including two pyramids. I don't know what possessed me before. I think I was just excited to have new sets.

Re: [US] Target Black Friday
My problem isn't with the discount but with the choice of sets. The troll mountain fortress hadn't been seen for months before the sale. These are found everywhere with regular discounts offered. So an extra 5% or 10% really isn't that tempting for all the work involved in a BF adventure.
I agree that these will likely be on the shelf for a while after BF.

Re: [US] Target Black Friday
What I find funny is that LAST Christmas, Walmart and Target put ALL their remaining Atlantis sets on Clearance.... I ended up buying like 5 Portal of Atlantis's for like 60 or 75% off... and I snagged a Pyramid from Amazon a few months back at 40% off with no tax and shipping.
So in reality... these Black Friday sales really aren't that great of deals in consideration

I have mixed feelings about new releases: I can't wait to see and get the new sets... but I can't figure out where I'm gonna put them or store them.

Does anyone recall of Amazon matched the Target prices the way they sometimes do ToysRus prices? No tax is a good incentive for 5-9% more in "savings".
I have coveted the pyramid since last year.

I just don't get it. Both these sets were clearanced at both Targets near me to 75% off. So now they're going to get more stock and sell them for only 35% off ??!!?!?!

I wish I had seen these sets for that kind of discount but they did the same thing last year with their two doorbuster Black Friday sets, one of which was the Troll Warship and I think the other was the Space Police Galactic Enforcer or whatever, which had both been $50.00 at the Hampton, VA Target and then $64.00 on Black Friday. Go figure.

I'm in P-Town. They were at the Chesapeake Sq. Target....and, funnily enough, I also saw them @ the Hampton town center Target.hardtravelinghero wrote:Where in Virginia are you?amonument74 wrote:I just don't get it. Portsmouth? I may be returning to that area for a job. By the way, there is a Hampton Roads Lego Users Group, Hardlug.amonument74 wrote:I'm in P-Town. They were at the Chesapeake Sq. At least last year I liked both the troll castle and the enforcer. This year is MEH. No way will I get these. Oh well. I am totally underwhelmed by all the sales this year.
