If your store does not have a QAR on hand, ask them to check the warehouse. My store checked their system, and the warehouse had 200 on hand. The employee checked me out for the sale price and the QAR is to be shipped for free directly to my house. #winning

Not sure if others posted this but I got the 50% off, plus 10% off with the members discount plus 30% off with the coupon, They stopped doing the 30% coupon about 11:30 am, they said management called and said this was a mistake. But it clearly was meant to be in addition to existing sales so... Anyway, I had scored well enough already.

All Sales are out the door (with tax)
King's Carriage 7188 13.46
Hagrid's Hut 19.23 (30% off coupon denied)
SW Frigate 7946 40.45
Hogwart's Express 26.94

Too good to believe. Congra. I'm looking for King's Carriage and Hagrid's Hut, too.

I got the SW Sith Infiltrator for $35, SW Ewok Attack $12.50, Creator apple tree house $22.50. So basically 3 sets for the price of the Sith Infiltrator (MSRP). Awesome!! Still wish they had a better selection and the Black Pearl, but I am still happy.

Yeah I brought my wife and and hit two different stores, one of which had a checkout at the front and in the movie section. So we used both and double dipped. Selection was limited but still happy. I was shocked people weren't clearing it out. I have a daughter and snagged one of the larger Calico Critters playsets for 18 and change, marked 55.

Originally the cashiers knew what to do, they used a calculator to cut the price in half, then scanned the set and adjusted the price manually, then applied the member number, then the 30% off coupon to that. I suspect someone realized they were losing their shirts and called regional managers to let them know to stop. BUT, as the scan on the previous page shows it CLEARLY was intended to be an additional discount and it specifically says should be applied after other discounts and members discount. I asked the manager why they were denying it now and she said it was supposed to refer to things marked down like 20% not something already marked down so heavily.

So Calico Critters is included in the online 50% off and the extra 30% off does NOT apply to this either, so they screwed up somewhere.

Our local one with a toy section (Cincinnati area, Kenwood Mall) still had a lot this evening. Got a Technic set and the Republic Frigate. They also gave me an initial 10% off for being a member and then 50% off. Not too shabby.

You should have read the original posting. I said this was in store only from the beginning.
50% was not to work with anything else. So yes, whoever gotten the 50% to work with the members discount and the 30% extra coupon got a super deal.

Anyone remember last year thanksgiving? Borders went bankrupt shortly after despite offering 50% coupons several times too. I can't help but think B&n is closing soon.

If you gotten a good sale don't forget to thank the persons who made it possible by sharing the info.

The key difference is the Nook product line. Borders had no equivalent, so they had nothing to fall back on (I think B&N will be around for awhile).

Borders had hefty B&M competition in the form of Barnes & Noble, which offered better prices and a similar inventory. And Borders outsourced their online presence (to Amazon!) for far too long. B&N faces no such nationwide B&M competitors and has picked off a lot of indie bookstores as well; the company may be in trouble 5 years from now if they don't continue to adapt to pressure from Amazon, but they're not going bankrupt this holiday season.

(In the long run the key will really be whether or not enough states force Amazon to start collecting sales tax. The built-in discount of tax-free shopping is a big ol' thumb on the scales for a lot of big states.)

I was tired of hearing of all the great deals from US inside BN so I went downt to buffalo area today. I wish I could have showed on Black Friday but I think the crowds from all the torontonians and locals would have made it an unenjoyable experience shopping. However, saturday was nice and calm. Got 37% off the robie house so paying $126 plus tax for it was good enough for me considering its $250 plus tax in canada. I printed a total of three coupons for use on this and other goods and the cashier was kind of enough to process all coupons in one transaction, even though coupon is good for one account only. I only have one membership but she gave an extra 10% on all the purchases which would not be possible if the coupons were used in separate transactions. Also picked up my red cargo train that I ordered from tru and passed through customs without paying any taxes on total haul - key response is always to say first Ithat you bought kids toys, books, clothes folowed by other goods and they could not care less how much you spent.

This was the best deal for Black Friday. Besides myself, only one other person took advantage here. Plenty of sets to be had. I picked up another republic frigrate at 9am. I didn't realize that they opened at 4am. This was a good day.
