Fire Temple and Diagon Alley for under $200 CAD? Couldn't resist, caved. We'll see how it goes...

In the same boat, ordered 3 Fire Temples. Expected total after taxes/shipping is around $100 CDN each.

How about tower bridge for $141 euros taxes included and shipped! Thats about $195 cdn. Working backwards, Thats about $173 plus HST. Cannot beat the one I found at target for $167 plus taxes but pretty darn close.

I think this big set will for sure get dinged at customs, but I still pulled the trigger.

Was this online or in-store? That is a really good deal.

someone bought it online and I guess they returned it to a target. I happen to see it on a trip to target in buffalo and was shocked that this large set was available! I suspect the store marked it down 30% off to get rid of it since they don't carry large expensive sets in-store, and I never heard of 30% offline tower bridge at target online either.

The tower bridge I bought from amazon.fr finally arrived this week - it was significantly delayed for almost two months. It was another experiment on shipping from europe to see if I got hit with fees and the timing. This time the shipping was through UPS so I got dinged with fees this time. The set was probably sold out quickly so I had to wait for amazon to restock and send. Again amazon.fr used a weak flimsy box so this set had major creasing but also had major shelfware.

Here are the cost details
$140 euros = $190cdn (good exchange now at 1.35 and they only charge when they ship)
UPS fees = $33.19 (about 17%)
total - $223.19cdn

discount relative to cdn retail = 34% off
discount relative to US retail = 15% off

Bottom line: was hoping for $190cdn which would have made this one awesome deal matching the $167US plus taxes I paid instore at target. With the UPS fees added, still a decent deal wrt canadian msrp but not us msrp.
