Re: [USA] Wal-Mart Clearance
does walmart ever mark down clearance items like target does? I've been hiding clearance sets at my local store while i decide whether i want them or not.
Re: [USA] Wal-Mart Clearance
One store near us has not moved the prices on the HP/POTC clearance since 5/24. Not a single set has sold in that time....the shelves look untouched and dusty.
It is clearly YMMV.

Re: [USA] Wal-Mart Clearance
I'm biding my time on my store's SW Frigate and Podracers(maybe even the Bounty Hunter ship) to be 50%... Not one has been bought yet at 30%.
I pulled the trigger on the Black Pearl tho and they still have 2 left at $69. Too bad I don't feel comfortable selling stuff online or I would pick them up as I see ppl are snatching them up left and right or can't find them. I'll be upset if it somehow gets to 50% off as well and I bought it too early. Oh well, I have the best looking box anyway, the other 2 are dinged up quite a bit... maybe that's why they are still there? I bit on the Falcon at $99 tho and they are already gone.
Re: [USA] Wal-Mart Clearance
Im betting some Frigates go down to 50% too. They dont seem to be a big seller.

Re: [USA] Wal-Mart Clearance
By me they had 25-30% off a lot of sets, but Helm's Deep is the only one I picked up for $89. No Turbo Tanks in stock, and Friends was full price.
I posted 27 photos of the stock they had on my blog.
Thanks!

Re: [USA] Wal-Mart Clearance
Dude, you know those Black Pearls will be going for about $130 to $150 during November on Ebay right??? If i was you I'd pick a couple of em up at $75 (after taxes) to sell some during November and early December once the stores are all out. I picked up four and left 3... went back and someone emptied one of em out and probably stole the set and left the empty box.... muy malo!!!SquareSide wrote:I'm biding my time on my store's SW Frigate and Podracers(maybe even the Bounty Hunter ship) to be 50%... I picked up PoTC Whitecap Bay for 30 in San Jose Ca. Not collecting the PoTC sets but this one has lots of gray to expand my LoTR sets.

Re: [USA] Wal-Mart Clearance
austin texas - anderson lane - walmart had all their friends stuff at 30%, but none was marked as such. so if your store has any friends stuff, it's worth taking it over to the scanner to see. fyi, this store has only the $20 msrp sets and below... none of the larger stuff with the good pieces for MOCing. :(

Would you be willing to sell the 2 mermaids? That was the only thing I wanted from the set. I live in Arizona.LegoTrooper505 wrote:I picked up PoTC Whitecap Bay for 30 in San Jose Ca. Not collecting the PoTC sets but this one has lots of gray to expand my LoTR sets.

Re: [USA] Wal-Mart Clearance
Just now, on the way home from beach vacation, stopped at Garners Ferry store in SC: all sets DEEP in stock at 30% off. Well, no Helms Deep, but many Dino, SW (no MF :-( one frigate), City and other LotR. Our car, sadly, is packed window to window, so all I got was the last Pearl for $40! I am, however, still craving those Dino and LotR sets, hopefully I'll find them around home.
Re: [USA] Wal-Mart Clearance
My local Wal-Mart had nothing on sale 8/6. I stopped by today & there some Star Wars sets on sale. I picked up Millenium Falcon for $99 & Republic Frigate for $79. Thanks for the tip!
Re: [USA] Wal-Mart Clearance
In Orange County, CA one of the Walmarts has Helm's Deep for $90 and Weathertop for $40.
Re: [USA] Wal-Mart Clearance
Well, they rearranged the clearance aisle in the Fishkill, NY store - still a bunch of QARs and the two WCBs at 30% off, no further reduction as of yet.

Re: [USA] Wal-Mart Clearance
Wow. Thanks for the tip. Between two Walmarts I spent $900. Got some good stuff, but _no_ Helm's Deep/Clone Tank/Falcon/Olivia's House/any PotC. I saw the tag for Helm's Deep, but all gone.
I estimate there was still about $2500 of 30% discounted product on the shelf. I skipped over all Pod Racers/Dinos/Police/Ninjago. I got one of everything else and cleared out some sets. Friends Cafe/Mines of Moria were my favorite grabs.
The bigger Walmart didn't seem to have the Friends line at all. I checked all aisles twice and the girl's section was really lacking. I felt like I missed it.

Re: [USA] Wal-Mart Clearance
Is $100 a good deal for the millennium falcon? Saw about 8 of them at my local WM. ended up grabbing a few city space sets for 30% and some duplo for the little one.
Pod racer was 30% off, been looking at that for a while but not for near $70.
Ninjago ship was 50 ish, and a few other common SW sets were sitting @ 30%, along with city space and some Dino sets.
No potc ships in sight though! The only thing I have been looking for and I can't find a single one.

Re: [USA] Wal-Mart Clearance
I'm kinda amazed at the number of people posting that they are buying so much now at 30%. These will go to 50% if you just have a little patience, probably in the next week or two. If you are buying to fill a collection gap and you see only 2 or 3 on the shelf, then it makes sense to get one, but to clean out a whole set group at 30% for either resale or stocking up on bricks is a mite to early imo. Also, remember that these stores track sales at each point of price drop, so the more that leaves the shelf at a smaller price drop, the less likely they are to reduce it further than that in the future.
Re: [USA] Wal-Mart Clearance
By my observations over the last year and a half, most clearance price changes happen about every two weeks. One of my stores here had a date of 8-2 on the first clearance sticker, so that would suggest the next change around the 16th. This is not always the case, as sometimes it takes another week or two longer, but I have never seen any clearance price changes at any retailer happen sooner than two weeks apart.vynsane wrote:Well, they rearranged the clearance aisle in the Fishkill, NY store - still a bunch of QARs and the two WCBs at 30% off, no further reduction as of yet.

Re: [USA] Wal-Mart Clearance
In my experience, Walmart will discount to a price point, and hold for a while. This spring, some places did get to 50% off for Christmas clearance but many Walmarts just don't have the room to stock their clearance items. Stock gets shuffeled about store to store and Walmart clearances can be hard to come by. If you want any of these, take it at 30% because they will disappear in a week or two.markerpk wrote:I'm kinda amazed at the number of people posting that they are buying so much now at 30%. Concurr with taking any discount you can, locally I rarely see Legos around at the 50% drop point. And if I do it's cars :p or ninjago :p. !
