reading all these post is like rubbing salt on wound. no walmart close by me only targets.
there are 4 targets in a 5mile radius from where i live and 2 of them are literally next to each other...
although i love target you will RARELY, and i can't stretch the rarely part enough, do clearance. 2 stores still carries the black pearl and still trying to sell for regular price.

Although having more than one Walmart is no guaranteed Nirvana - have yet to find any significant Walmart discounts in this round, other than a big horkin' red sticker that says "CLEARANCE" with MSRP on it (of course, minus two to four cents... nothing like CLEARANCE means they pull the price down a penny or two... well, that is until they "Roll Back!" the price to MSRP). Our Targets participate more (albeit long after everyone else, then only for a maximum of 30%). If you have a Fred Meyer in your area, much more likely to find bargains there that either Walmart or Target (at least in our section of the Pacific Northwest).

Auburn, GA. Just grabbed 5 Helms Deep for $45 each and 2 of the alien copter jets for $11 each. Left a couple behind but boxes were pretty bad. They also had a couple of Podracers for $50 each and a few misc Star Wars sets for around 30% off. Nothing else in the Auburn, Columbus, Opelika area at the moment apart from a few items at a couple of cents off retail!

Great find. Been waiting to find a store discount a Helm's to that price or lower. Still waiting.

What location was that?! The Walmarts in RI never have great deals like that.
Good question. People always tend to do that, posting about great deal found but never say where, making the post to be bit more of bragging than sharing (and yes, i do realize there is some sense of jealousy in my post as well, but i am not)
Too many times I've had stores dry up on me after someone posted a location. I would rather not make it easy for the resellers in my area. I posted my find to let others know that another large set has been put on clearance at a Walmart.
What difference does it make to you if something "dries up?" You already got your sets, so let others in on the goodness.

In other words, "Hey, I got a deal, but I'm not going to tell you where, so there you go." This was a very irksome post, and I wish you'd simply not post instead of taking such a self-righteous stance.

That and I don't believe that VC was on such sale.

Ok, now I'm all for posts but really, VC for 45 and HD for $45? Already? There's no way Walmart is this stupid for _current_ sets.

"Reports are coming in"

Can we please not have such speculative (or should I write, unsubstantiated) deals appear on the homepage?

They are accurate. If you use the Walmart mobile app you can check the prices in the store as if you are using the scanners in the store. Inventory check has been very accurate for me so far too. Sometimes it will show in stock, but won't be on the shelves yet. They should up on shelves later in the day when I checked after work.

What happens is they don't have shelf space so they have to clear the stuff out. Don't know why this happens or why they don't have storage areas for for some excess. I spoke with the person scanning the items as she was clearancing them. She said anything without a tag on the shelf is going on clearance. Mind you of all the Walmarts in my area only 1 had good deals. The one I live next only does clearances twice a year on LEGO that I've seen and never 50%.

Totally agree. What's the point of even telling us you found these great deals if you won't tell us where? Knowing they are deeply discounted at some Wal-Mart doesn't help at all considering only certain stores seem to be having these amazing clearances. If you are doing it because you want more of them for yourself go get them THEN tell us?

Also gotta agree with this. They go from offering at most 25% off, to suddenly offering them almost 65% off clearance? Give me a break. The sets have barely even been out 4 months at most stores, why would they suddenly jump from 25% to 65% off? Why not 30, 40, 50, etc. first? Plus no new sets are coming out so why be in a rush to empty shelves of the CURRENT Lego themes when the new sets are still months away from release? This makes absolutely no sense at all.

Btw, I just bought a Lego Death Star for 5 bucks. ZOMG!

Don't know why people are getting angry. Most people don't tell locations to keep away the lurkers and hoarders. In fact, do your own leg work. If you want to know that bad, PM and ask nicely. Users posting their finds is still helpful to get a feel for what to look out for and when.

People talk as if they have an understanding or know how Walmart clearance work when they don't. From experience, WM clearance doesn't have a code to follow. They do it for various reasons. I don't have a hard time believing the VC was marked off at 50% off when I've seen WM clearance sets for 50% and restock the shelves with the same sets a week later at full price.

The difference it makes is that I would like to continue to get the deals as they come. Yes, I got my sets this go around, but I would like to get them next time too.

Tell you what. I'll let you in on where I got the deal. Walmart. Go to your Walmart and see if they have it. That's why I posted the information. Sorry that you feel that way about me posting here. Let me know when this is your site and I will stop.

Would you like for me to take a picture of the receipt? I'll include the one with the $10 QARs I picked up too. Let me know if you would like another "irksome" post.

About two months ago a walmart near me had the $20 Ironman/Loki/Hawkeye set for $10. I saw the sticker but they were already out of sets. @Target two or three weeks after release, the entire PoTC line clearance for half off-- I picked up a few sets.

I agree Vampire Castle half off is unlikely but I've encountered a few lucky ones in the past around release time.

:edit: $10 QARs --- That I don't believe

Darn they didn't have VC discounted at my local walmart, but I did pick up the DC Batcave set for $40.

Ehh, it seems most the people buying them in the first place are lurkers/hoarders themselves. Some guy apparently bought all 5 Helm's Deep sets they had out? Another all the Quin Jets?

I would believe some of these if they made more sense OR there were multiple reports reaffirming the same thing. Instead it seems there is only 1 person reporting each of these best deals and coincidentally they won't give the store locations away. I find THAT odd.

A new set is discounted 65% and only one person has seen it and they won't give their store location? Ya, that seems really likely to me...

Bad Vibes Bad Vibes Can't we all just get along? Walmart has no rhyme or reason to how they discount. My Dad actually found a QAR opened for $20 at a Walmart a few months back. All pieces were accounted for. I guess they just discounted it because it was opened. Two days later he went back and there were 3 more on the shelf. He scanned them and BAM 20 buh.... Cheap Christmas presents. BTW he is in Las Cruces New Mexico. Have fun trying to find it on a map. Approx 40 miles north of the US/Mexico boder. You guys can try to beat him to the deals but, for a 74 year old, he's pretty slick
Why do we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway?
