[USA] Kmart LEGO Clearance Fall 2012

NorCal was also very dry, but I'm not going to complain since I got the 30% off the Epic Dragon there (a set that will never be on clearance anywhere I'm sure), and some random small pickings... and because at the last two 50% off clearances, I went to town and got $1000 worth of stuff for like $300. So I'll give them a pass this time.

Deal is on for the whole week, but don't bother going to one unless you drive by it anyway, anything good will be long gone by now.

Went to one today, pretty much cleaned out if they had anything decent to begin with. One X-Wing left but rang up at $59.99. Only thing that scanned 50% off was Ninjago Helicopter. The even had an old HP set that scanned full MSRP.

They only seemed to care about items with a clearance sticker. I didn't scan everything, although the unstickered things all seem to be full price.

Some people are quite lucky. When I got there, 4 middle-aged ladies were in a group and had totally ravaged the clearance section. I was lucky to find anything! None of the new lego sets (Like Monster Fighters, LOTR, New City wave, etc) were on sale, but I found:

Ventured out hoping to find some of these deals but the only thing that scanned at clearance was catwoman at $5. Only LEGO in the Clearance aisle was the Minotaur game and it had no yellow sticker and scanned full price. This was Assembly Sq.

I had to scan just about all the sets and scored a Marina for $22.50 and Geonosian Fighter for $13.50. They had the Knight Bus at $15.50 but I'm not into Harry Potter. I forgot to scan the Catwomen and Cap America cycles so they could of been on sale too. >_< Everything else was ringing up at full price like the other Batman, Spongebobs, Avengers, & other City sets that ppl have been getting on sale. Just as well, I'm spending too much anyway lol...

Aw, wish I would've been smart enough to scan a few, all I did was look at the clearance (saw nothing) and then check the Lego aisle (saw full msrp) and then left. Looks like I am going to drop by again.

The four K-Marts I went to all had different items on clearance. One had an X-Wing on clearance while the others didn't. Another had a TIE Fighter and so on. Most stores only had one of each. We also have a K-Mart clearance center (a store specifically for clearance merch.) that will not honor the ads. They had most of the LEGO clearance there.

Anaheim Kmart had only 1 Friends set on clearance, and it was obvious someone was already there scanning what others have listed as on sale. Corona had nothing.

Many I the sets mentioned here were not on sale at my local k-mart, like LOTR and Star Wars x and tie. I still had an amazon haul with many older $30 set priced down to $10 or less: the fishing boat, the alien tripod, the plane 3 in 1 set, space shuttle, ultimate build McQueen, Geonosian spaceship, minotaur game, and I picked up a whole lot of batman & catwoman sets that will make great Xmas gifts. There were also a few ninjago boxes. This was in Claremont, NH.

The funny thing was that most o the sets were unmarked and sitting on an endcap away from the clearance isle.

I hit up 3 more Kmarts since I had some luck earlier in the week. Two were almost complete busts. Both stores had tons of the Alien Defender (7050) set for $3.50. I did find a Friends (3932) for $4.50 off in another aisle that was marked clearance. Both of these stores had a TON of stock. Relatively nice stuff like the Epic Dragon, Olivia's House, etc, but they were full price. The third store had some things on discount - found two more Skull Trucks @ $28, but left them (although it hurt to do so, just not sure what resale would look like on them and I'm not sure I want the hassle). I did pick up

Added an Alien Defender to be sure to break the $50 barrier for the $5 gift card...

So, not bad, but I really look forward to when those two well-stocked Kmarts decide to actually do some sales.

Also, I asked one of the stores if they were done moving things to clearance and was told yes, everything that was going to be marked, was marked. Not sure if the employees know and one of the stores seemed to be moving stuff to clearance while I was there, so...

And finally, while the clearance stuff frequently rang up incorrectly, I scanned maybe 15-20 items that were not marked clearance across all 4 stores and none of them rang up as being on clearance.

Absolutely nothing at my store: there was nothing marked with clearance stickers anywhere, and no "secret clearances" that rang up upon scanning either. The store had plenty of all the sets folks have been mentioning in the thread so they weren't out of stock, it's as if they weren't participating in the clearance at all. Boo.

I also saw a bunch of city fire & police vehicles, some POTC, spongebob, creator and friends at various places.

Almost all of the sets were stickered and I only found a couple that were not marked, although I did have 4 that had a sticker on them but were still ringing up at full price. I pointed them out at checkout and they had no problem doing an override for the 50% off.
I also stopped at a few Walmarts along the way with nothing much new, but did find the large Harry Potter Hogwarts 4842 for $60 and a POTC Whitecap bay for $40. (no, there is nothing else worthwhile left)
A great sale overall and even though I spent way more than I wanted, at least I can quit being frustrated by checking the local Walmarts every day. I am done (hopefully) until black friday.

And I just found out that the only Hulk's Helicarrier Breakout I got was replaced by some slimebag with old Megabloks and returned. I was so looking forward to getting that set on discount... but no.

I stopped by my kmart today only found the harry potter game on sale for $14 everything else was full price. This is in the baltimore maryland area

The KMart I went to (Hooksett, NH) had nearly all the sets mentioned, but only the Catwoman set rang up as being clearanced. So I picked up 4 of those. There were at least 4 still on the shelf when I left.

Yes, scored a few heroica sets, and left a few geonosian fighters ($11) on the shelves. Not much else. But with the flood there really isn't much older stuff to clearance in this store yet.

No x, tie, lotr, or super heroes, even though all those sets are on the shelves in large amounts. I'd love finding the uruk hai army for a decent price, but no luck so far. With the amounts out there it should be good pickings once those sets hit the discounts here, though...
