Since I'm new to the site and haven't been tracking the pricing of LEGOS until recently can someone tell me if this is a good deal or if you expect the price to drop even further around Christmas? I read this set sold for $180-$195 last Christmas...would you expect that to happen again or should I jump on this price (I haven't seen this on sale for a while)?

Hey Nba...

I'm new to Lego too. My recommendation to you is, just never buy anything at the retail price. If u get sth for 15% off, good to go. I think u should only wait for those larger discounts 25-30-50% off only for new sets. Ie. the R2D2 and bwing came out this year. U have probably 2 years at least to wait for the thing to drop to a price u like without having to worry about it getting discontinued.

If you want it, get it. IS is one of those sets that could be going soon...or it could hang out for another year. It's hard to tell, but a discount as deep as the one lightning deal last year on Amazon is probably going to be rare.

LEGO S@H might discount it on BF for 20-25% off, or they might not. Amazon does have it right now for $229.99, in case you missed the Target deal.

NBA I wouldn't get it unless you really want it. It doesn't offer any play-ability and it more of a collector item. Sure it nice but for $216 I can buy sets that are not just only pleasing on the eye. Speaking of myself, I'm not a huge Star Wars Lego fans other than battle packs, land vehicles, X-wing fighter, Death Star, Jabba Palace, Hoth Echo Base, and a few other.

Arghh, looks like I missed out on this deal. I just saw it and proceeded to Target, but unfortunately it's back to $259. Hopefully they'll have this set again, I wanted to use my 5% off as well.

Planning a massive assault on Endor are we?
Why do we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway?

Hahahahaha  good one!

On a little side note: This is the best UCS set and my favorite set of all time. If you're on the fence about getting this, don't be, I guarantee you won't regret it. Pick it up now before you have to pay double for it!

So......this is even better than R2-D2 UCS. If I have this much of extra $$, I will go for R2-D2 first.

I have only built R2 and not the IS, but I would probably get the shuttle first if I had the cash. Bigger chance of going away soon.

R2 looks great and was an interesting build, although it was also a very short build as well. All of the pieces are really small and the finished product is not very large either. It's still a great set, but it will also be around a lot longer than the IS likely will.

I hope it will stay at the shelves as long as possible, like Death Star.

It is showing up for me as a "Quick Pick" in addition to a gold box deal bringing it down to $199.49 on Amazon...so be sure to check there as well. I find it by signing in to Amazon and then clicking "Today's Deals" at the top of the screen...then scroll down a bit.
