Lego Star Wars 10179
Hi guys. I am thinking about selling my lego 10179 set. I know I can get a decent price for it I just wonder where should I list it and for how much. I am trying to avoid ebay and their fees so any other suggestions are welcome. I have had this set for a few years and wanted to someday put it together with my son but now it's just aking up space, collecting dust and I could use the money to buy new tires or my truck.

Is it in a sealed box? Why not try Bricklink?

is there a limited first edition on the bottom left? if not it is second edition - that also matters when figuring out selling price. The ebay / paypal fees are going to be about 15% of the selling price but that is still small relative to what you will sell this for. When you list it in any other place you will usually have to lower the selling price since every other market has less exposure than ebay and if you want to sell, its usually at lower price and buyers expect that too.
There are still fees at bricklink so it won't change the paypal fees but their fees are less than half of ebay.
I list on ebay and bricklink and ebay gets things sold faster even at higher prices than bricklink. There are definitely cases where lego sets on bricklink are listed and sold higher than ebay but in my opinion they are not listing it at market but at their lowest price they are willing to accept and they can sit on this forever.
You can also save 4% of ebay seller fees by listing this in electronics as its 7% instead of 11% that you typically get hit with in toys/games.

This set has dropped in price. The average on ebay is about $1800. You do see some spikes. I really thought this set would hit $3k by xmas last year. I would keep it as it would be hard to get another one. But hey, we all have our priorities.
