Wal-Mart Stocking/Pricing Error on Legos (YMMV)

Post by Stanley Coolbrick » Sat Jun 01, 2013 9:50 am

At one of my local Wal-Mart's (RI/MA region) they mistakenly put a stack of Marvel Super Heroes Lego sets in an area that was to be set up for a different toy line. After seeing this and bringing it to the attention of their floor manager, because it was a store error (there were literally 10 or so sets in this spot) I managed to score an Iron Man Malibu Mansion Attack and a Spider-Man Doc Ock set for $48 TOTAL. I realize this will vary store to store, but keep an eye out for circumstances like this, as the woman told me that since there were multiple sets in that spot, they had no choice but to honor what the price label said.

That reminds me of when I was a kid in Walmart. I found a whole group of Bionicle trading card decks that should have ran for $10-$15 in an area saying "Bionicle sets" for $2.99 which I think was referring to some kind of accessory pack of a Bionicle helmet. There were different colors/varieties of these decks, and we picked up one of each x 2 for me and my brother. My dad just talked his way through it with the manager, and we walked off with about 8 decks for an incredibly low price. The game probably wasn't very good, but man, did I feel pretty special, and somewhat guilty about it.

Went to our area Wal-Mart's today. Found 6 more ghost trains for 49 each in Walpole and a bunch of mummys in north attleboro for 7. Bought 5 mummys an left 5. No other deals found. Nothing at any of the targets either.

Thanks, it's tempting, but I'm not motivated to go in this heat! I also worry about missing parts in a beat up box....

Found one Iron Man vs. The Mandarin for $5 at walmart, most likely wrong pricing since it just came out in March :D
