Lego SDCC 2013 Exclusives?
Lego SDCC 2013 Exclusives?
So SDCC is next week. I know a lot of retailers have been playing things close to the chest this year on exclusives, but shouldn't LEGO have announced what they plan on keeping out of most of our collections by now? I would assume they wouldn't just start skipping the opportunity to make an ultra cool, impossible to get figure(s) for us when they've done them yearly for several years now.

I don't know anything, but I have a sneaky suspicion it may tie into the Wolverine Movie.
Re: Lego SDCC 2013 Exclusives?
I wouldn't be surprised if they had the Cuusoo BTTF sets ready to be sold with some over-rated snazzy SDCC box sleeve.

They are rather lame besides the awesome Green Arrow (That should get his own sets).

I like how they're calling it "Alternate Suit Spider-man" and not "Amazing Spider-man movie Spider-man".

Legal issues.
Disney owns Marvel and Disney and LEGO love each other, however Sony still owns the Spiderman movie rights because they had the rights from before the Marvel sale.
Re: Lego SDCC 2013 Exclusives?
^ I know, I just think it's funny. There are plenty of "alternate suit" variants they could have done - Scarlet Spider or Ben Reilly Spider-man, Iron Spider, 2099, Amazing Bag-man (Fantastic Four costume and paper bag covering his head), Spider-Phoenix, Captain Marvel Spider-man, Spider-Carnage... but the one they decided to go with is "Basketball Texture Spider-man".
Re: Lego SDCC 2013 Exclusives?
5 days before the show and they FINALLY announce them!
I guess nothing is a huge MUST HAVE this year, but I'd still like to get Green Arrow and Spider-Woman at least. I have little faith in getting them though. SDCC is crazy at the LEGO booth.

Re: Lego SDCC 2013 Exclusives?
I'm wondering what sets will be previewed at SDCC?
If I had to guess I'm thinking the Dagobah/Yoda's Hut set that has been rumored for awhile now that we haven't seen yet might be very likely. That is the one I am going to hang my hat on as my prediction. We will see if I end up being right or not
(If it isn't released at CC I expect it to be released at Celebration Europe 2 the week after)
If they just reshow the ewok village I might be a little disappointed even though it is completely awesome.
Not that we will necessarily see it at comic con but it is pretty likely we will get a set with Smaug that comes out in the winter wave in the Hobbit line. That would be an exciting reveal. Let's face it, Lego would be missing out on a huge cash cow if they didn't produce a Smaug set before Christmas when the movie is released....I'm sure it is coming.
I have a nagging suspicion that sometime in the next year or few waves we will see an eye of sauron tower set too...Orthanc is just so similar that it doesn't seem like a far stretch to alter the tower and add an eye. That could be a SDCC reveal though it doesn't seem as likely as some other possibilities.
Anyone else have any thoughts?

Re: Lego SDCC 2013 Exclusives?
In the recent years there has been one day per theme. Is that not how it is going to be this year? That article only mentions super hero sets...though a riddler and flash minifig do sound good. Are you saying that is the only theme that is being revealed this year?Brick & Blue wrote:To answer your question....

Ugly Batman, Riddler, and Flash set.
I could understand if they wanted to save the star wars sets until CE2 but not having anything else representing other themes would be really surprising.
Re: Lego SDCC 2013 Exclusives?
They are also revealing the Lego Movie set info.
