Considering Back to the Future made it through, I would imagine this will - at least being age appropriate for Lego. Whether they want to pay the licensing fee is a different story

But then again, they are making the Simpsons now so anything is possible now I guess.

Yeah. I personally like Ghostbusters more than BTTF and Simpsons. Hopefully, TLG will be taking easy at review status.

Lego will probably reject it because its too close to one of its existing themes (there is a fire hall in the city line right, and the ghosts would be too similar to Monster fighters). Or they`ll throw it out because of all the sexual innuendo and profanity in the original movie. I`m just being a royal pain when I say that since LEGO rejected some totally awesome projects for similar lame reasons. I would buy anything Ghostbusters related if LEGO made it, even sets based on Ghostbusters 2 (which stank, but at least it would be Ghostbusters LEGO.)
Who is General Failure and why is he reading my hard disk?

I don't think getting the building is realistic. However I see them making the Ghost Buster car for $40-$50.

Theer was also a children cartoon way back in the 80s so it wouldn't be something totally out of line. LEGO LotR is a really violent movie, same with some other themes LEGO has done.

Agreed. Ecto-1 is likely going to be the set. We'll be lucky to get all four Ghostbusters too, let alone get a ghost like Slimer. And IF they do the fire station, you know it will be a lot smaller than that one. Less modular and more classic façade style.

Hmm, TLG could possibly downsize the fire station as bad as the bank from 3661 or the museum from 60008. In this case, I prefer they keep the building out of the cuusoo set. I don't want to pay $30 to $50 more for a crappy ghost hunter headquaters.

I have a good feeling about this. The whole 30 year anniversary plays well. The original story was incredibly popular and the kids who loved it during the original release are now at an age to have the disposable income to buy the product. Many also have kids that they would be happy to buy the product for. In a way it's really the same at BTTF.

Another iconic story from that same era that could do well is Robotech/Macross. There is another excellent Cuusoo creation getting close to 10K. Check out http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/638 if you haven't already.
