[MOC] Twist and Whirl Ride - a motorized carnival ride

Post by dvsntt » Fri Oct 04, 2013 12:43 pm

I want to share with you my Twist-And-Whirl ride, based on the tilt-a-whirl ride.

A minifig scale carnival ride made in homage to one of my favorite rides as a child; The Tilt-A-Whirl. This ride has 8 cars that spin while the platform rotates. It is designed using a solar-gear in the center, with planetary gears around it. It could easily be motorized

Please view the following videos to see the ride in action:

This is a very basic model that demonstrates the ability to use a very simple gearing mechanism to create the thrilling movement of a carnival ride. The design of the cars, the platform, the fence, is all very basic. This was my very first MOC, and I hope that you like it.

Very cool! I like the car design in particular. Nice work!

That's cool. Better with more detail/decoration. Look forward to see your MOC theme park.

I have always been stymied by doing correct gearing. I would love to learn how.

Cool...wish more stuff like this was on cuusoo. Seems to me about everything is either a movie or tv set. It is nice to see something original and creative
