New Pick-A-Brick Wall Elements in-store
Re: New Pick-A-Brick Wall Elements in-store
Oh, that's an interesting point, I didn't realize there was a retail aspect to the discovery center. Any idea what their pricing and selection is like? I don't see anything about it on their web page, and brickbuildrs entry for it is just blank. Having my son with me might make it difficult to go in there just to shop, but it's worth considering.

Not sure about pick a brick prices, selection is small but the rest of the store has things like other Lego brand stores don't. Polybags, different key chains and other accessories.

PAB is sold by weight at my local LEGO Discovery Center. Selection is a bit different from the LEGO stores.

Atmail, Thanks for the heads up on this! I haven't been to the Lego store in a few months and the Braintree store still had a number of horses and stair units. The blue pink and purple were well stocked, and a delightful surprise: light bley 1x4s.
It may have been asked somewhere else, but when did the PAB cups go up in price? I feel like last time I was there they were a dollar or two cheaper.
thanks, again,
david

They went up $1 each a couple of months ago; right when they went to the new format of refreshing the stock every quarter.

I wish it didn't increase. I shouldn't be complaining though because the price per piece is ridiculously cheap! I'm guessing they'll probably increase the price another dollar within several more years.kibosh wrote:They went up $1 each a couple of months ago; right when they went to the new format of refreshing the stock every quarter.

Thanks for the reply. Bit of a bummer, but certainly not a deal breaker! Thanks again,

Topanga Lego store has horses but are limiting them to 4 per person. Had friend fill cup so I got 8 with two small cups. They are keeping then behind counter so u have to ask for them.
Re: New Pick-A-Brick Wall Elements in-store
Wow, is that common? It seems to go completely against the idea of the pick a brick program. Can't imagine that corporate would approve.

My local store appears to be out. Drats, missed out on those horses. :(
Re: New Pick-A-Brick Wall Elements in-store
Horses lasted about 2 days at my local store (they went in the wall about mid-day on Friday and were gone by Sunday afternoon). I didn't help the situation by buying 64 of them... I was told that the store might get more at some point in the future.

Re: New Pick-A-Brick Wall Elements in-store
I was at the washington square mall in Oregon last Saturday and they had a note on the horses bin stating a limit of 5 per person.
Re: New Pick-A-Brick Wall Elements in-store
I picked up 29 horses and some ladders from the store in Surrey, BC last week. They had at least 50 left afterward but with no limit they probably didn't last too long. The guy working at the Surrey store said that the Oakridge store in Vancouver was limiting people to only 1 horse. For a special piece like a horse I can see having a limit of 5 to 10 or something but 1 seems a bit low. Since there was no limit at Surrey I managed to get 19 horses into one cup and then put 10 horses and some ladders in another. Now I need saddles!
Re: New Pick-A-Brick Wall Elements in-store
My question is... what are you all doing with/planning for these horses???
Re: New Pick-A-Brick Wall Elements in-store
Maybe a chess board (or two) where all of the units are mounted?
More seriously, I do have plans for a large farm and maybe some sort of medieval battle with a large number of mounted units. I also suspect that the horses will be pretty easy to trade with other members of my LUG if there is something else interesting that goes on the wall that I miss.

Those two are probably the idea behind the purchases.I do have plans for a large farm and maybe some sort of medieval battle with a large number of mounted units.
But also the top comment is another possibility. After all we live in the land of opportunity.
