TRU is offering 20% off Lord of the Rings and Hobbit Lego from Feb. 22 - 28. If prices don't change from now some items are actually MSRP before the discount with others above which cancels out the deal. Depending on what you're looking for it can be an ok deal if you're like me and you're starting to get the shakes because you haven't bought an Lego this month...I mean this week :)
On a side note did TRU ever carry Orc Forge? None of my local stores have it and it's not listed online. I need to pick this set up before they cancel it on me.

I believe Orc Forge is a Target exclusive.

That is correct just like how Barrel Escape (79004) is a TRU exclusive.

TRU is also showing some LEGO sets on its Sat & Sun half-priced deals pages - I am making the assumption the prices will be updated then, or maybe not, after all it is TRU.
http://www.toysrus.ca/family/index.jsp? ... ore=TRUSCA
Sets listed:
LEGO Dino - T-REX HUNTER (5886)
LEGO Star Wars - Anakin's & Sebulba's Podracers (7962)
LEGO Star Wars - Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator (7961)
LEGO City - Passenger Plane (3181)
-
LEGO, it's not just a toy, it's an addiction... ;)

I guess they really have a lot of 7961 and 7962 left after the last sale, I am surprise to see 3181 since I remember picking one up a long time ago at Walmart on clearance. I rather have 5887 Dino Defense HQ then 5886.

This Saturday Sunday half price deals thing, is this online only or in-store also? And why have I never heard of it before? I am SO out of the loop it seems.

Time for me to get the passenger plane. I need to get there early since I missed out on the half off TRU truck last time.

The Dino set's regular retail is ninety bucks!? That's insane for 480 parts.
(Meanwhile, the podracers and the passenger plan are now showing out of stock. The other two are still available, for $45 each, limit of 2 per customer)

I ordered the Sith infiltrator and passenger plane probably around 7:30 am EST. For the free shipping though, I had to order a 3rd set. Was debating a 2nd one of the above, but ended up ordering the Mr.Freeze/Aquaman set instead. I suspect folks could price match the web price to in store (especially if you do it off of the mobile phone so it is hard to see the tiny "out of stock".

I think there was a bug with the passenger plane because around 9am I was trying to add it to the cart and it would say the item has been added to the cart but nothing showed up. And it was in stock at that time.

Went to my local TRU but the staff was not aware of the 50% off sale.
Since I didn't see the passenger plane on the shelf, I didn't bother to scan other 50% off sale sets.

They were in Barrie. No planes left that I could see, but plenty of the others. Picked up the T-Rex and Pod racers sets.

Not sure about the others, but the T-Rex Hunter set was half-price at Markville Mall. Got one, but not really sold on it. Feel like I'm getting it merely because of it being half-price. I can see why that set doesn't sell though...regular price of $90 for 480 pieces? Lmao.

TRU sucks. Went in exactly the time they opened. No sign of the planes, I searched high and low and behind the shelves to see if someone hid a set behind something. No luck. They did have 4 T-Rex Hunters and a couple of Podracers.
From what I remember, the last time i went to TRU they had plenty of planes. Probably hid them in the back again. :(

Big surprises. Love unadvertised deals.
Plane for $27.50 is a steal, bought it at WM over a year ago for $30 and this is even sweeter. Consider 10c/pc for a plane set, I don't think we'll get to see it often. Great addition to 3180 if you can find it.
I guess most people have a hard time justifying $45 for T-rex, copter looks bulky enough but the main selling point is the T-rex (duh), which I don't think most kids care today. The whole dino line should be 50% off now, but I don't think TRU cares either. There is always some World Racers and Space Police on shelf with original price tags.
Pod race is good but too many small pieces. So plane is the best deal, no wonder it's sold out.

For those who missed this - they will most certainly be having more of these sales during late winter/spring. They do have more stuff to clear out prior to the new sets arriving! No worries.
